Bean rock is now the only wooden cottage light house in New Zealand. It was aotumated in 1912 and now runs on solar power.

Lighthouse bean rock
The Bean Rock Lighthouse is in the Auckland harbour near Devonport. It was built in 1871 and was named after a navy captain P C D Bean who helped to chart the harbour in 1840.
